We recognise that students come with a whole range of experiences and backgrounds and more importantly all are individual in their needs. Students direct from School have to adapt to University teaching methods and previous graduates often find the methods they used before don't work for a Vet degree. Therefore, we have a team of staff available to help students.

We offer dedicated academic skills and development advice, through drop-in and individual bookable sessions. Typically during these sessions, current methods will be reviewed and alternative strategies are suggested. Often students find just small changes can make a big difference to their enjoyment and success at University.

We also offer workshops and other events where students can try out various techniques and talk to fellow students about what methods they use.

The University of Edinburgh Study Hub offers lots of really useful resources to support students with all aspects of studying and time management and can be accessed here: https://www.ed.ac.uk/institute-academic-development/study-hub

For students who feel they would benefit from more in-depth advice we offer an appointment-based system where students can book a study skills review with a member of the team.
