VetPALs

The VetPALs scheme aims to help you adapt to studying at university.

What is VetPALs?

VetPALs is based on successful peer-assisted learning models in operation throughout a number of schools within the University. It is open to all first year students.

Vet PALs sessions are a student-to-student support system where more senior students facilitate discussion on specific topics with junior students. Feedback has shown that this is highly beneficial to all participants.

Why have VetPALs?

Adapting to studying the vet degree takes time and can be challenging. University is very different from school, and students joining as graduates say the vet degree is quite different from their previous degree. VetPALs aim to help you with this transition.

How VetPALs works at the School?

Sessions, of around one hour, take place over the academic year, led by a team of trained VetPAL leaders from later years. The sessions are usually offered over a lunchtime, covering a specific topic chosen to meet the needs of the students.

The sessions are fun, yet informative and helpful.
