Throughout the veterinary programme students attend many practical classes where they develop a range of skills in many procedures - from basic animal handling through to more advanced techniques such as suturing and ophthalmoscopy. We have a several models and simulators in the labs where students can develop their skills in a range of procedures including some invasive procedures. We also have a large group of staff dog volunteers who are used for non-invasive teaching such as handling, clinical examination e.g. heart auscultation and body condition scoring.
