This new agreement builds upon a successful relationship, that has been built over several years and includes an ongoing student exchange programme that has been running since 2009. The exchange programme helps students to develop enhanced graduate attributes by providing them with an international experience, in keeping with the University of Edinburgh’s new Global Engagement Plan. The most recent exchange took place in September 2017 and saw undergraduate students and staff from Hokkaido University visiting the School, the Roslin Institute and some of our partner institutions. They also had the chance to spend some time in other areas of Scotland, pursuing areas of interest outside, but related to, the veterinary curriculum. The new Memorandum of Understanding builds on our existing relationship to include a PhD student exchange agreement, which will be co-supervised by staff from both Edinburgh and Hokkaido.
