Event overview

Professional artist Samuel Robin Spark was referred by his vet to the Hospital for Small Animals at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies when his cat needed specialist treatment.

To thank staff for the wonderful care they gave to his beloved pet, Robin is generously donating a third of the selling price of any paintings sold at his forthcoming exhibition to the Hospital.

With over forty abstract paintings on show this is sure to be a colourful and fun affair at the Patriothall Gallery in the heart of Edinburgh. The exhibition is open to all.

Getting to the Patriothall Gallery

“Robin has been coming to the Dick Vet on and off with his cats and dogs for over ten years. We first met when his cat Walston was referred to the Hospital in 2005 with pancreatitis and high blood pressure. In the years to come I continued to treat Walston through a range of ailments. He was a beautiful but fragile ginger tom, who became anxious as his blindness developed. He was only happy when he had Robin close by his side, and he preferred to sit on Robin’s knee during appointments. Sadly, Walston passed away late last year so the exhibition is a wonderful way for Robin to thank the hospital clinicians for the care his much loved pets have been given. We are always extremely grateful for the support we receive from clients and friends as it helps to enhance hospital facilities and ensure the best care possible for all of our animal patients.”
