Hospitalisation

Information should your pet need to be hospitalised.

If your pet needs to stay with us, they will be hospitalised in one of our species-specific wards.

Reptile ward

Our reptile ward has vivariums in a variety of sizes, to ensure all species of reptile are comfortable and well-catered for. All are heated, with UV-B lighting and humidity regulation, in keeping with species preferences.

Avian ward

For our avian patients, we have custom-made booths, ensuring that each bird is provided with their own ventilation system, preventing spread of respiratory infections between patients. Our avian ward also has a display screen, for birds to watch bird videos and listen to music during their stay.

Rabbit and small mammal ward

Here, our small mammals can relax in a calm, quiet environment. Each enclosure has a comfortable bed and lots of hay, hide boxes and high quality dried and fresh food. Water is provided from a bowl and bottle, to cater for an individual animal’s preference.

Providing species-specific wards helps us to promote patient welfare and reduce stress, to speed recovery times.

Companion animals

We know how important companionship can be for a pet, so we are happy to house companion animals for any hospitalised patients.

Critical care

If required, critical patients may be transferred to the Intensive Care Unit within the hospital. Here, patients are constantly monitored and can receive treatment round the clock. The ICU facility has incubators and equipment to allow for oxygenation and nebulisation.

Supportive nutrition and fluid therapy is also provided to ensure our patients maintain their weight and hydration.

Keeping in touch

If your pet is hospitalised, a member of the team will provide regular updates on their treatment and wellbeing by phone and email.
