We are providing veterinary support for Golden Eagle reinforcement efforts. The Golden Eagle South of Scotland project aims to reinforce the number of Golden Eagles in the Borders, Dumfries and Galloway through translocation of eaglets from other parts of Scotland over a five year period. The conservation medicine team based at the R(D)SVS provide veterinary support, advise and expertise for the project. Specialists from our conservation medicine team are involved in pre-release clinical examination and health screening. They also lead the Scientific Advisory Panel for the project. In August 2018 the first three Golden Eagles were successfully released. For further information, please contact Gidona Goodman or visit the project's website. This article was published on 2024-09-02
