Curriculum Transformation Project: developing ecological, emotional and vertical literacy in Higher Education.

The University of Edinburgh's commitment to curriculum transformation emphasises the integration of learning for sustainability and the associated competences in education for sustainable development into teaching and the curriculum. 

As an active member of the Sustainability in Education Research Group and the Teaching Climate and Sustainability community of practice, Glen Cousquer has integrated ecological literacy and emotional literacy into the various streams of work in this area. The work has been informed by research on the need for vertical literacy and integration of knowledge practices and awareness at an organisational level, published in the Journal of Awareness Based Systems Change.
