Please call us for prices There are two categories, Teaching necropsy (gross examination only) and Teaching necropsy with limited histopathology (up to 6 slides). These reports are solely for the clinician’s interest and teaching purposes; they are not suitable for insurance purposes, legal cases, publication, research or forwarding to clients and/or referring veterinary surgeons. The turnaround time for histopathology on teaching cases is 3-4 weeks depending on the complexity of the case. Note: Gross-only teaching cases submitted during outside the normal semester (i.e. when final year students are not on rotation/clinics) may be frozen until the following semester. Cremation/carcase disposal charges are not included in this price. Client Request necropsies (any species excluding zoo submissions) These charges apply for cases when a report is for insurance purposes, legal cases, publication, research or forwarding to clients and/or referring veterinary surgeons. These cases will take priority over teaching cases. Found include article with no content reference. Note: These necropsy fees do not include VAT, cremation/disposal charge or additional microbiology; additional histopathology slides are charged extra. Zoo Necropsies Histopathology will be charged separately if required after the gross report is reviewed by the referring zoo clinician. Zoo “PM in a pot” A trimming charge applies to full sets of tissues submitted from a post-mortem examination undertaken at the zoo (by zoo staff). All the tissues submitted will be processed unless the accompanying submission form requests otherwise. Zoo Post Mortems have disposal included in the price but VAT is not included.
