Advice enquiries

A guide on when to call vs email.

Urgent matters: Call us on 0131 650 7650

Non-urgent/ongoing cases: Complete and email the Advice Request Form to HfSAreception@ed.ac.uk

How it works

  1. Fill out the Advice Request Form and select your specialist service
  2. We'll contact you within 48 hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm) via email or phone
  3. Give us a range of times when you're available for calls (particularly for emergent or urgent cases)
  4. You can add other staff contact details for faster response

Important notes

  • Our clinicians have teaching duties, so we can't guarantee specific call times
  • We may redirect your request to a different service if more appropriate
  • All advice is given in good faith, but treatment decisions remain your responsibility
