The Roslin Innovation Centre, based in the Charnock Bradley Building, provides office, lab and meeting space across the upper two floors and is occupied by established tenant companies, University spin-outs and early-stage entrepreneurs. Image Since the opeing of the Charnock Bradley Building by Her Royal Highness, The Princess Roayal, the Roslin Innovation Centre has continued to welcome new residents; received VIP guests; conducted tours; hosted events, receptions and guest surgeries; participated in public engagement, and embraced their prominent location at the heart of Easter Bush Campus. In celebration of the 12 month anniversary of the Charnock Bradley Building, they share the most notable highlights of their year: May 2018 HRH Princess Royal met with each of our tenant companies following a tour of new facilities on Easter Bush Campus and we hosted delegates of the Big Data in Agriculture symposium at a networking reception in the Atrium to view posters and enjoy refreshments. June 2018 Thomas Farrugia of Beta Bugs, a company optimising insects for industry, was awarded a new RSE Unlocking Ambition Enterprise Fellow, hosted by Roslin Innovation Centre. July 2018 We welcomed Ingenza Ltd, an expanding industrial biotechnology company and one of the largest teams to take up residence, occupying 11,000 sq ft of customised office and lab facilities on the top floor. August 2018 We participated in the ‘Scotland's Legends’ campaign, showcasing the region’s strengths with a particular focus on human health, animal health and agriculture and provided insight into the role of Roslin Innovation Centre for Scotland's life sciences sector. September 2018 Our first anniversary milestone, marking the arrival of our inaugural tenants - Synpromics Ltd, Abacusbio Ltd and Roslin Technologies Ltd - was celebrated with cake and shared with tenants in our ‘oval office’. October 2018 We participated in our first Easter Bush Campus Open Day, joined in the atrium with some of our tenants including Ingenza, Roslin Technologies, Edinburgh Genomics, Greengage Lighting and Midlothian Science Zone. November 2018 First Minister Nicola Sturgeon hosted a Scottish Government Cabinet meeting and formally opened the Roslin Innovation Centre. December 2018 We hosted our first Christmas Quiz to tenants in the festive spirit and welcomed N2 Pharmaceuticals Ltd from Russia - the company has developed N2-01, a unique injectable drug proven in clinical studies to dramatically increase the effectiveness of artificial insemination of dairy cattle by up to 50%. January 2019 Research conducted at The Roslin Institute with tenant company Roslin Technologies was widely publicised in the media, reporting the discovery that GM chickens produce human proteins in eggs offering a cost-effective method of producing drugs for research. February 2019 We launched our new programme of in-house business and informal events with a Legal Surgery by invited guest Dr Julie Nixon, an Associate with Morton Fraser LLP. March 2019 UKRI’s Chief Executive Professor Sir Mark Walport met with tenant company, Synpromics Ltd, to view work by the synthetic biology company, the leader in gene control. April 2019 With 18 tenant companies now occupying over 66% of leased space there’s a real buzz about the place. The fantastic building, combined with the ecosystem, culture and supportive Easter Bush Campus environment has encouraged a friendly and dynamic atmosphere.
