The Farm Animal Hospital specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of cattle and sheep. Alongside our first opinion Farm Animal Practice, the R(D)SVS is also pleased to offer hospitalisation facilities for all types of farm animals. We are able to provide a range of complex diagnostic, surgical and critical care procedures on any farm animal species utilising our access to large animal imaging facilities, surgical theatres and hospitalisation/isolation facilities. The aim is to expose our students to the wide range of farm animal clinical cases that they are likely to encounter in practice, enable them to undertake further diagnostic tests and treatments, as well as assisting in the diagnosis and control of disease problems on farm.Although we are happy to speak to animal owners directly, all referrals must come through the farm’s private veterinary surgeon or veterinary practice. New out of hours phone supplier We have changed our out of hours (OOHs) phone provider to VetSec, who are a veterinary specific call handling service.Should you require veterinary assistance out-with office hours (Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm) please call our usual number (0131 445 4468) and your call will be directed to VetSec, and our duty vet will call you back as soon as possible. If you have saved our previous OOHs number (the Telephone Answering Service, 01223 849 835) please delete this.
