Drug free approach to address musculoskeletal pain The Practice is offering acupuncture as a service to horses, following one of our equine nurses completing the ABVA Equine Acupuncture Course. This training was based around Western acupuncture, which focuses on identifying areas of tightness, known as trigger points, and careful placement of acupuncture needles into specific anatomical points to stimulate local muscles and nerves. This can trigger the body’s natural healing response to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, enhance nerve function and boost immunity.Acupuncture can be used to treat muscle and joint pain, poor performance, digestive and respiratory issues, nerve issues, and stress. Kirsty has also completed further training in electroacupuncture, which has been shown to be beneficial for conditions such as headshaking, back pain, and sacroiliac pain.
