Digital Bone Box - Multi Species

The digital bone box was developed to allow students to learn, become familiar with and revise the structures and bony prominences of a full range of dog bones.

This was a way to expand access to the physical dog bone boxes provided by the library service. These physical bone boxes are extremely fragile and valuable. The digital version offers a user-friendly alternative that can be accessed from the dinner table just as easily as the classroom without fear of bio security incident.

Expanding the provision to include multiple species has been incredibly useful for our multidisciplinary curriculum.

Digital Anatomy Prosections - Multi Species

Using high-definition photography to capture key stages of anatomy teaching make it possible to develop a range of highly detailed and annotated digital models to supplement the teaching experience and provide high fidelity revision materials for students.

These resources capture the extremely professional dissection work carried out by our anatomy lecturers as they prepare for teaching sessions. This technique provides an opportunity to preserve this work for future years and to allow students to visualise resources in a way not possible from images in textbooks.

We have produced these for Dog, Sheep and Cow and intend to produce the full range of species covered in BVM&S teaching.
