We have expertise in health risk analysis (disease risk analysis) and disease management for wildlife translocations. Members of our group have long-standing expertise in conducting health risk analyses for reintroduction projects and other translocations of wildlife for conservation purposes, and in disease management of these projects. We have been involved in conservation translocations for a wide range of taxa including birds, mammals, reptiles and invertebrates, in the UK and overseas, over the last two decades. Currently, we are supporting researchers working on health risk analysis for reintroduction of endangered species in Southeast Asia and South America. We are also collaborating on a research project about the application of health risk analysis to the UK wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and release sector. In parallel to these projects we are working to advance wildlife health risk analysis methodology. We work closely with colleagues at the Institute of Zoology, Zoological Society of London and co-run workshops about health risk analysis for wildlife health and conservation practitioners. For more information about this work please contact Dr. Katie Beckmann.
