Veterinary Medical Education Division

The Veterinary Medical Education Division is a leader in educational research and development. Our work aims to enhance the practice, and understanding, of veterinary education for the benefit of our students, our faculty and the profession.

This programme has been developed by the Veterinary Medical Education Division (VMED) to support any colleague involved in teaching, learning and assessment at the R(D)SVS, GAAFs, or Roslin Institute.

The VMED team are actively researching in a number of themed areas outlined below. Our aim is to advance veterinary education by adopting an evidence based approach. Our team is contributing to this evidence base through the work we do, much of which is collaborative. Please do get in touch if you are interested in collaborating with us on any aspect of veterinary medical education.

The Digital Education Unit (DEU) is based at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies. The Unit provides technical teaching support and pedagogical advice.

The Clinical Skills Department is based at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies. The team provides a safe and supportive learning environment for students to develop their day one skills.

The Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (BVM&S) makes use of a number of acronyms.
