Offer conditions

Use UCAS Track to check the conditions (if any) and status of your offer

If you have any questions about these conditions, please contact the Admissions Team as soon as possible.

We have made you a conditional offer because we require you to meet certain conditions (usually certain grades in your exams), a requirement for additional relevant work experience, or the payment of a deposit. Once you have met all of these conditions your offer will become unconditional.

If you firmly accept our offer of a place, please note that the deadline for the payment of a deposit to secure your place is 6 June. Please note that if you choose Edinburgh as your insurance choice you do not need to pay a deposit.

Conditional offers are expressed in terms of letter grades and not UCAS Tariff points. For example, an offer set at two B grades means that two passes at B grade or above are required. A combination of one A grade and one C grade are not regarded as the equivalent of two B grades.

Offer conditions are based on the information you provided in the “Qualifications Not Yet Completed or Certificated” section of the UCAS application and must be met in the current sitting of exams.

Send copies of your educational certificates to the Veterinary Admissions Team

You must send the Admissions Team a certified copy of certificates relating to any qualifications you have already achieved (if you have not done so already), which are detailed in “Qualifications Completed or Certificated” section of your UCAS application. This might include a previous degree, A level, IELTS/TOEFL qualifications. A certified copy means that it has been stamped and signed by the institution.

You must provide authorised translations of all certificates that are written in languages other than English.

Deadline for meeting English Language conditions

If, as part of your offer conditions, you are required to satisfactorily complete an English Language test, the deadline for this to be submitted to the Veterinary Admissions Team is:

  • 4-year Graduate Entry BVM&S Programme (August start): 30 June
  • 5-year BVM&S Programme (September start): 31 July

Make sure we are notified of your exam results

If you hold a conditional offer based on A levels or the International Baccalaureate, you do not need to notify us of your exam results. We receive these results directly from either UCAS or the IBO.

If you hold a conditional offer based on results in any other examination - for example, a degree or an overseas high school diploma - you must send official transcripts or certified copies directly to the Admissions Office, as soon as the results become available, whether you decide to accept our offer either as Firm (i.e. your first choice) or Insurance (i.e. your back-up choice). A certified copy means that it has been stamped and signed by the institution.

If you do not meet the conditions of your offer, your offer cannot be confirmed.

If you feel that any special circumstances, such as illness, have affected your exam performance, we encourage you to follow the special circumstances procedures of the relevant exam board. Your school or college will be able to advise you about this and please also notify the Admissions Team.

Animals and Tissues

Together with your official offer letter, you will receive a teaching note on Animals and Animal Tissues. Please read this carefully before making your final decision on whether to accept your Veterinary Medicine offer or not.
