Terms and conditions of TPLO surgery fixed price promotional offer

 

  1. Promotional offer
    1. This promotional offer is available exclusively at the Hospital for Small Animals, Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh (“the Hospital”) and applies to TPLO/CCWO (Tibial plateau levelling osteotomy/Cranial closing wedge ostectomy) surgery only. The fixed promotional price £4,000.00 (subject to clause 2). It is valid until the 19 January 2027 unless otherwise extended or withdrawn by the Hospital.
  2. Fixed price inclusions
    1. The price is fixed to £4,000.00 for canine patients. This price includes the following services:
      1. Initial referral consultation
      2. Hospitalisation for up to 24 hours before surgery, and up to 48 hours post-operatively.
      3. Intravenous cannula placement and sedation
      4. Pre-operative and post-operative radiographs of the stifles, not including other regions
      5. TPLO or CCWO surgical procedure (at the clinician’s discretion) of one stifle, including surgical implants and routine consumables
      6. General anaesthesia for the surgical procedure
      7. Post-operative pain relief medication in the Hospital and up to 2 weeks of routine oral pain relief
      8. One referral revisit consultation at 8-12 weeks after surgery.
  3. Exclusion and additional charges
    1. The fixed price does not cover the following:
      1. Investigation or treatment of pre-existing conditions unrelated to the TPLO procedure
      2. Management of pre-operative, surgical or post-operative complications, including but not limited to:
        1. Infections
        2. Implant failure or removal
        3. Delayed healing or non-union
        4. Ongoing lameness
        5. Additional investigations (e.g. bloods, fluid analysis radiographs, CT scan, MRI)
        6. Extended hospitalisation
        7. Revision surgery.
      3. Any additional medication (including ongoing medications for other conditions), dressings, follow-up consultations (beyond that listed in clause 2), follow-up imaging.
    2. No further discounts will be applied to this promotional offer (e.g. Staff/student discount, MRCVS discount, UOE staff discount).
  4. Complications and consent
    1. By accepting this fixed price offer, the client acknowledges and accepts the risk that while a successful outcome is endeavoured towards, complications can occur. Any treatment required as a result of complications will be discussed with the client and charged separately to the fixed price. These services will be governed by our standard terms and conditions, as detailed on the signed consent form.
  5. Eligibility
    1. This offer is only available to patients deemed suitable candidates for TPLO/CCWO surgery following clinical assessment by the veterinary team at the Hospital. The Hospital reserves the right to decline the offer if the patient is not a suitable candidate, surgery is not in their best interest, or where there are any concern relating to animal welfare, safety, availability, staff safety, and client compliance with pre- or post-operative instructions. For Pets that do not meet the criteria for this offer, we will, where appropriate, discuss alternative options
    2. Cats and other small animals are not eligible for this promotional offer.
  6. Payment terms
    1. As per our standard terms and conditions, a deposit of 50% of the fixed price or estimate is required prior to treatment where owners wish for payment to be made to them directly by their insurers, or in cases without relevant insurance. The remainder of payment is due at the time off collection of the Pet.
  7. Amendments and cancellation
    1. The Hospital reserves the right to amend or cancel this offer at any time without prior notice or liability.
