We have a range of facilities available for our orthopaedic examinations and treatments. Image We have a large covered trot-up area where lameness examinations can take place sheltered from the Scottish weather. Outside boxes are provided for day-patients; horses which are not being admitted to the main Hospital, while those admitted to the hospital are housed in one of three conjoined American Barn yards. For exercising horses we have two indoor sand schools where horses can be lunged or ridden. One of our two operating theatres is reserved for sterile orthopaedic procedures such as joint surgery and fracture repair, where contamination must be avoided at all costs.
