The winter cohort has graduated from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, supported by family and friends. Students celebrated their awards at a ceremony at the University’s McEwan Hall . Over 95 graduates attended the event, which was also streamed live. Students from the School are a global cohort, learning subjects across veterinary clinical education and beyond. Graduates receiving their awards this year represent a growing group of leaders in One Health, conservation, and clinical practice in veterinary medicine specialisms. Graduates will go on to drive advances in improved animal health and welfare, and combat the global challenge of food insecurity. A significant number of our students complete their degrees online. For many who attended the graduation in person, this was their first visit to Edinburgh with some travelling from as far afield as Australia, California and Chile to celebrate the occasion. Celebration The School marked the milestone with a celebratory reception at the Potterrow Dome, where staff, students, and families gathered. Members of the Postgraduate Taught (PGT) team were joined by colleagues from across the Easter Bush Campus, including the Head of School, to congratulate graduates in person. The event also featured the presentation of awards, including Dissertation of the Year and Student of the Year. Attendees described the evening as warm and memorable, with many staff highlighting the joy of meeting graduates’ families. “Hearing relatives speak with pride about the hard work and dedication shown by their graduands was the highlight of the evening,” Dr Fiona Borthwick, Director of Postgraduate Teaching. The event served as a fitting celebration of the completion of years of study and perseverance, bringing together a global community of learners to mark their success.
