  • Completely covered examination, treatment rooms and stables
  • Intensive care suite and neonatal foal unit with specialist equine internal medicine and anaesthesia specialists
  • Ophthalmic equipment including slit lamp biomicroscopy, direct and indirect ophthalmoscopy, and tonometry
  • State of the art ophthalmic diagnostic equipment including electroretinography, ultrasonography and optical coherence tomography
  • Dedicated operating microscope and theatre facilities allowing delicate intraocular and corneal surgeries to be undertaken meticulously
  • Suprachoroidal microneedles for treatment of uveitis
  • Standing CT for investigation of sinus, nasolacrimal and orbital disease
  • Standing surgeries including keratectomy, third eyelid resection, episcleral cyclosporine implant placement, cryotherapy of eyelid or corneal tumours
  • Clinical, Gross and Histo- Pathology: one of the advantages of the R(D)SVS is the excellent and full pathology service staffed by specialists who regularly deal with equine specimens. Our equine clinician’s liaise closely with the pathologists to ensure the maximum information is obtained from cases
