Our radiography department is fully digitalised with all studies being stored on a central computer (PACS) with several digital viewing stations. Image Still image/ radiograph of a dog \"swallowing study\". Contrast medium appears white as it moves from the mouth (left side of the image) through the food pipe and ends up in the stomach (right side of image) This approach allows us to rapidly and accurately report all imaging studies.Images can be interpreted after their acquisition by diagnostic imaging specialists. In addition, we can perform radiography in “real time”, which is called dynamic digital radiography (also known as fluoroscopy). This allows us to visualise certain processes as they happen in the patients. This approach is particularly valuable during the evaluation of dogs and cats with swallowing difficulties (dysphagia), regurgitation or other signs of oesophageal disorders.See more at the Diagnostic imaging website.
