Student Support Advisory Group (SSAG)

The School has a number of academic staff with specific responsibilities relating to student support. Details of who we are, are listed below.

SSAG Remit

  • Your Student Advisor may refer you onto SSAG if they feel further support is required
  • We meet with you to advise and support you if you have serious or persistent professional or welfare challenges which your Student Advisor is unable to resolve by themselves
  • We can also advise if you have issues that could potentially affect your progression (as determined by regulations on attendance or academic performance)
  • If you are returning to the programme after taking an interruption of study for health reasons or repeating part of the course for any reason, we might arrange to meet with you to welcome you back and check you have any required support in place to help you succeed on your return
  • You may be referred onto SSAG if your situation requires further action after a Progression Committee meeting

You can also Raise a Request for Support for a friend/another student you are concerned for.
