About the Clinical, Education and Professional Services Career Development Committee

We are part of Easter Bush’s Career Development Group, we aim to champion career development of all members of staff at RDSVS. We aim to raise awareness of opportunities the university offers to support and develop the diverse career paths of staff at RDSVS. Everyone who works at Easter Bush has their own unique career paths and goals, thus we do this in collaboration with other committees as part of the Easter Bush Career Development Group:

• Clinical, Education and Professional Services CDC (for primarily teaching, clinical and professional services career development)
• Roslin CDC (for primarily research career development)

Duties

• To promote and encourage career development opportunities to the wide, diverse range of professions covered by this committee 
• To increase awareness and understanding of the promotion process and career paths. 
• To increase awareness and encourage good work life balance through the promotion of Staff Wellbeing programmes and the University Family Friendly Policies. 
• To promote a culture of quality and inclusivity within the School
• To increase engagement and understanding of the Annual Review process. 
• Monitor Staff Survey results and identify any gaps or skills in terms of career development/ support. 
• Review and approve for recommendation to the SMG any new local policies and systems required to support the above. 
• Prepare and submit required documentation for the Athena SWAN awards scheme and monitor and support delivery of Athena Swan award Action Plans.
