Student Support staff are available if and when you need help during your studies, and you can access support in-person on campus or online from anywhere. We recommend you read the following information, paying closer attention to the things that are important to your individual needs. For Graduate Entry Programme Students Only Student Cards Please ensure that you have followed the instructions to process your student card. Your student card will be available to collect from the School during registration onto the BVM&S degree course on Tuesday 6th August. Process your Student Card Extra Mural Studies for Graduate Entry Students Extra Mural Studies (EMS) allows students to gain practical experience in as many aspects of veterinary work as possible. You will receive full details of your requirements and advice on arranging your placements once you begin the programme. For now please make sure that you are familiar with the information on the page below, and note that you will need to complete 12 weeks of Animal Husbandry EMS outside of term time in year one of the GEP Programme. To meet this requirement, you will need to complete a placement during your first Winter Vacation Period. Further EMS Information For 5 Year Programme Students Only Extra Mural Studies for 5 Year Programme Students Extra Mural Studies (EMS) allows students to gain practical experience in as many aspects of veterinary work as possible. Further EMS Information For ALL Students Health Questionnaire Your questionnaire is emailed out to you when you have met all of your offer conditions. It is critical that you complete and return this by the deadline stated in the email that accompanies your questionnaire. Thank you! Students who have not completed & submitted a health questionnaire will not receive clearance to study on the BVM&S programme, and may be asked to suspend or withdraw from their studies until such times as clearance is obtained. Student support Disability and Learning Support Service The Disability and Learning Support Service (DLSS) arranges support for students who have a health condition, disability or neurodiverse condition such as dyslexia, autism or A(D)HD, which affects their studies. If you have a condition you think might require further support please register with the DLSS to arrange an appointment to discuss this further with a Disability Adviser. If you aren't sure, please get in touch with your Student Adviser to discuss with them in the first instance. DLSS - Register with the service Library and Learning Technology Find out more about the library services. The main library is in George Square, which is in the city centre. However the R(D)SVS has its own Veterinary Library, with study spaces and rooms for group study, and many resources are available online. The below webpages also provide information on the Learning Technology you will use on your programme, including LEARN Ultra, which is where you will access key course information once your programme begins.
