I am currently working on genetic resistance of the Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) to Infectious Salmon Anaemia virus (ISAV). In order to understand the heterogeneous cell response to infectious agents, I am developing single cell RNA-seq technique with various tissue in salmon.

Favourite aquaculture species

All species that taste good but particularly mussels.

Background

I have worked during my PhD on the involvement of the apoptosis pathway in flat oyster (Ostrea edulis) during an infection by a protozoan parasite (Bonamia ostreae). I developed cellular and molecular techniques in order to follow modulation of the apoptosis pathway in both species.

After my PhD, I worked on understanding relationships between protist and infectious agents (OsHV-1, B. ostreae and Marteilia refringens) during an infection in oyster (Crassostrea gigas and O. edulis) using metabarcoding.
