Image The Roslin Institute has become a double recipient of a Gold Athena SWAN award in 2024, in recognition for its commitment to women's career development. A copy of the Institute's renewal application, including an action plan, has been made available to download.The Roslin Institute won its first gold Athena Swan award in 2017, following a silver award in 2014 and bronze in 2012.The Athena SWAN Charter recognises and celebrates good employment practice for women working in science, engineering and technology in higher education and research.Roslin was granted the award in recognition of the additional efforts made, over and above standard University wide policies, to promote gender equality and address particular challenges for women within science.The Institute received positive feedback on the structures, committees and processes underpinning our equality work, and the commitment of senior leadership to progressing gender equality.As part of the Athena SWAN process, the Institute has developed a five year action plan to progress with current initiatives and to enable further progress towards gender equality.
