Visiting PhD student Continued with his PhD at the University of Sao Paulo Image Research at the Highlander Lab I have been working on the construction of a sorghum breeding program aimed at the selection of bioactive compounds that can help in the treatment of chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and obesity. Goals: GWAS model for gene identification; Genomic selection multi-trait model to accelerate the breeding program; Selection indices for identifying the best genotypes. Background I'm an Agronomist and have a Master's degree in Genetics and Breeding from the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), Brazil. During my major and master’s degree, I worked with tissue culture and molecular markers in sugarcane, palm oil, macauba palm, and passion fruit cultures. I'm a PhD candidate in Genetics and Plant Breeding at “Luiz de Queiroz” College of Agriculture, University of São Paulo (ESALQ/USP) Brazil. I'm dedicated to studies of quantitative genetics, genome-wide association, QTL mapping, and genomic selection, and I'm a researcher at Sugarcane Technology Center (CTC). I am specifically interested in: Genetic Statistics and Bioinformatics Gene prospecting Biometric Models R Programming Programming language and software: R & RStudio & R Shine Python GitHub Overleaf Stacks, BWA, Samtools, and MultQC Latex Markdown Office Docker Linux distributions and Windows Hobbies and personal interests I am interested in cultural programs, theatre, dance, cinema, TV series, and plastic arts.
