Visitor Current researchI am a PhD fellow in the group of Morten Limborg at the University of Copenhagen, investigating host-microbiota interactions from a hologenomic perspective. My focus is on investigating the effects host-genetics have on its associated microbiota using multi-omic layers from both the host and the microbiota. I have been focusing on a zebrafish CRISPR/Cas knock-out model to investigate this in an ongoing collaboration between my home lab and a zebrafish lab led by Associate Professor Louise von Gersdorff Jørgensen. I am very excited to be visiting the Robledo group to investigate amoebic gill disease (AGD) resistance in Atlantic salmon, in a hologenomic context, and to learn from their expertise in quantitative genetics and functional genomics.Favourite aquaculture speciesSalmo salar (Atlantic salmon) because they are amazing, strange and tasty.Background[2016-2019] BSc degree in Biology-Biotechnology from The University of Copenhagen[2019-2021] MSc degree in Biology-Biotechnology from The University of Copenhagen[2021-current] PhD fellow in the Limborg group, Center for Evolutionary Hologenomics, GLOBE Institute, University of Copenhagen.Interests, hopes and dreamsI'm an adequate clarinet player, lover of music (particularly classical), a fan of fly-fishing, and a bookworm when I'm bothered.
