Rose Parsa

PhD Student

Rose is an EastBio DTP PhD student who joined the lab in Oct 2023. She is researching the structure and function of surface M-like proteins of pathogenic streptococci, specifically the bovine mastitis agent, S. uberis, in order to combat AMR. Prior to joining the lab, Rose worked as a technician in the parasitology diagnostics lab of the Atlantic Veterinary College in Canada.

She completed her BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour and Welfare and MSc by Research in Bioveterinary Science at the University of Lincoln, where her postgraduate thesis focusing on endoparasite epidemiology and coinfection in wild birds. Outside of the lab, she enjoys hiking with her huskies, paddleboarding, going to ceilidhs, and travelling.
