The group comprises undergraduate and postgraduate students, research assistants and postdoctoral scientists. Image Professor Jayne Hope – Principal Investigator Professor Hope obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Birmingham in 1991, and a PhD degree from the University of Manchester in 1994. She then carried out postdoctoral research at Kings College, London and subsequently at the Institute for Animal Health, Compton. Professor Hope joined The Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh in 2011 and was awarded her personal chair in immunology in 2017. Her research group studies cellular immune responses in cattle with a particular focus on understanding the role of innate cells in driving immunity to mycobacterial diseases including bovine tuberculosis and Johne’s disease.
