The Roslin Institute is delighted to celebrate the recent Honorary Degrees conferred on Dr John Brown and Dr Theo Kanellos. Image During the summer's graduation ceremonies, the University of Edinburgh has had the pleasure of conferring honorary degrees to a number of individuals it holds in high esteem. On Saturday 5th July Dr Brown received DSc honoris causa and Dr Kanellos an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. We, at The Roslin Institute, are pleased and proud to recognise both John Brown, who is a long term supporter of the Institute, and Theo Kanellos, the key driver of the Zoetis-EBRC partnership that the Institute is a part of. He has chaired and been the director of a number of private sector companies and in the public sector he is a member of the Scottish Science Advisory Council, chairs the Roslin Foundation, co-Chairs the Life Sciences Industry Advisory Board for the Scottish Government and is a non-executive Director of the Technology Strategy Board. Dr Kanellos is Director, Strategic Alliances at Zoetis and was the key driver of the five year $2 million partnership that bought together Pfizer Animal Health (now Zoetis), the world's leading research-based animal health company, and one of the largest veterinary research and education consortiums, the Easter Bush Research Consortium (The Roslin Institute, the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at the University of Edinburgh and SRUC (Scotland's Rural College) and Moredun Research Institute).
