Visiting MSc student Returned back home to Colombia Image Research at the Highlander Lab I am evaluating how the uncertainty of estimated breeding values impacts optimal contribution selection - how optimal is optimal contribution selection under uncertainty. Goals: Simulate a breeding programme Estimate breeding values and their uncertainty given some phenotypic and pedigree or genomic data Optimise contributions of selection candidates to the next generation taking uncertainty of breeding values into account Background I am a professional in animal science with five years of work experience in agricultural research and project management. I am currently finishing a Master of Science in Agricultural and Resource Management in the Tropics and Subtropics at Bonn University in Germany. I am specifically interested in: Applied statistics and computer simulation Quantitative genetics App development GIS Programming language and software: R Phyton QGIS Hobbies and personal interests I enjoy running, swimming, cycling, sometimes cooking and travelling.
