Current research

I am establishing a hemolymph cell culture and explant system for bivalves to explore their immune response following exposure to various stressors. This research aims to enhance our understanding of the intricate immune system of bivalves, shedding light on their reactions to pathogen interactions within the context of diseases relevant to industry.

Background

I am a research scientist with a diverse academic background that began at a veterinary prep school in France and progressed through degrees in laboratory technician, molecular biology, and microbiology. My focus has always been on microbiology and host-pathogen interactions, evident in my master's research on the gut microbiome.

Dedicated to scientific discovery and innovation in Animal Health and One Health, I completed a PhD in mycology, specifically addressing the 3Rs. I followed my PhD with a postdoc at the Moredun Research Institute working on Johne’s disease in cattle. My expertise includes experimental design, data analysis, and laboratory techniques, reflecting a strong interdisciplinary skill set.

I am passionate about contributing to dynamic and innovative teams, driven by a commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and ethical considerations in animal research.

Interests, hopes and dreams

I am a keen hiker and do a lot of different crafts in my spare time. Love going on longs walk with my dog especially. Dream and hope to travel around the world.
