The Roslin Institute facilitates access to top-tier infrastructure and expertise to promote sustainable agriculture, disease control, and improved health. Our campus provides an exceptional environment for research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, as well as training and education opportunities. We serve as a key national hub for the Agri-Tech, Aquaculture, and Animal Bioscience industries (3As).

Easter Bush Agritech Hub

We collaborate with public, private, and third-sector organisations to promote interdisciplinary research and innovation at local, national, and global levels. Our hub is well-connected, with both push and pull drivers for innovation, and we strive to offer a vibrant environment for new companies to form, grow, and thrive. Our hub offers a range of benefits and resources to support this goal.

The Easter Bush Agritech Hub seeks to leverage existing world-class research institutes and commercialisation facilities to help the City Region become a global location of Agritech and veterinary excellence. It does this through a campus-wide network that generates and collates, in real time, a multitude of local and global data, (e.g. veterinary activities, animal genetics, food species genetics, soil condition, weather and market drivers). It also collaborates with partners to use this information to realise the potential of having the right food species, and the right products, in the right field at the right time, to maximise agricultural productivity.

Roslin Innovation Centre

A key part of the Easter Bush campus is the Roslin Innovation Centre, which offers physical (and virtual) co-location space for entities active in the 3As to:

  • Office and laboratory space to enable tenants of the centre to incorporate and grow.
  • Provide a ‘soft’ landing for overseas companies.
  • Provide a hot-desk environment for commercial collaborators.
  • Provide an opportunity for partner organisations to create and grow new enterprises.
  • Provide a dedicated Science Outreach Centre to engage schools and the public.
