Visiting PhD student Continued with his PhD at the University of Campinas Image Research at the Highlander Lab Developing a machine learning-based prediction system for quantitative traits using different omics sources Goals: Develop deep learning architectures, including feature selection and data reduction techniques Compare the developed system with traditional approaches for genomic prediction Evaluate the applicability for different breeding schemes Background I hold a BSc degree in Science and Technology (Federal University of São Paulo/Brazil) and a BSc in Computer Science (Federal University of São Paulo/Brazil). Currently, I am undertaking a PhD at the University of Campinas (Brazil) in Genetics and Molecular Biology focused on Bioinformatics and Plant Breeding. I have experience on image processing and analysing different omics data (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metagenomics, and metabolomics) through methodologies coupling bioinformatics, statistical modelling, machine learning, and complex networks. I am specifically interested in: Omics integration and complex network modelling Machine learning systems for genomic prediction Explainable artificial intelligence Programming language and software: C/C++ R & RStudio Perl LaTex Python Java Bioinformatics tools for omics data processing and analysis Libraries for data science, complex network analyses and image processing Hobbies and personal interests Teaching computer science and analytics tools to non-expert users.
