Find out more about our award-winning public engagement with research programme. Roslin Institute staff and postgraduate students take part in a varied programme of public engagement activities and events at the University of Edinburgh's Easter Bush Campus, in schools and communities, and online; supported by the Institute's Public Engagement team. In autumn 2017 we significantly expanded the activities on offer to schools and public audiences with the opening of the Easter Bush Science Outreach Centre (EBSOC), a purpose-built teaching laboratory where visiting groups can experience real-life, hands-on science. Pupils and teachers can also engage with our research via online events and free, downloadable resources. In recognition of the valuable work carried out by both staff and students with our local communities, in 2015 the Easter Bush Campus was awarded the Scottish Enterprise Community Engagement Award ; and in 2020 our animal behaviour toolkit Opening a Can of Worms won an Understanding Animal Research Openness Award.
