MicroSoc Annual Conference, Belfast, April 2026 It was a particularly busy year for LBEP representation at MicroSoc 2026 in Belfast! We had posters from Pedro Melo, Jamie Gorzynski, Nat Ring, Rhod Evans and Silken Tschofen. Particular congratulations to Jamie for winning the Microbiology Horizons poster prize. We also had full presentations from Sara Pita (metagenomic methods benchmarking), Agatha Nabbilla Lestari (bovine mammary organoids), Chris Grant (S. aureus milk-associated biofilm biology) and Ross himself gave the closing talk of the conference in the “Pathogens without borders” session. As always, MicroSoc was a great opportunity for us all to see what other people are researching in the world of microbiology, to create new contacts, and to catch up with old faces.
