Nathita Phumthanakorn

Academic Visitor

Nathita was an academic visitor at LBEP during February to July 2024. She has been an instructor at the Department of Pre-clinic and Applied Animal Science, Faculty of Veterinary Science, Mahidol University, Thailand since 2018. She received her PhD from the Department of Veterinary Microbiology, Faculty of Veterinary Science, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. Her research mainly focusses on antimicrobial resistance and genomic analysis of animal-derived bacteria, such as Staphylococcus pseudintermedius, coagulase-negative staphylococci, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Nathita joined the research team of LBEP studying horizontal gene transfer between Staphylococcus aureus and other staphylococci in the bovine setting.

Outside of research, she actively volunteers with organisations like ONE or Inspire Her Afrika that address causes she is passionate about on the African continent such as health equity, poverty eradication, quality education, youth and women empowerment.
