Dr Lin Zhang

Visiting Postdoc - Fellowship of Hong Kong-Scotland Partners in Post Doctoral Research

Dr Zhang received her PhD in Biomedical Sciences (Prof. C. H. CHO) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (2013) and got research experiences in Antimicrobial Peptides (AMPs), particularly in control of Helicobacter pylori infection. From 2013 to 2017, she was awarded the Post Doctoral Fellowship from Faculty of Medicine (Prof. Francis K. L. Chan, Prof. William K. K. Wu and Prof. Sidney S.B. Yu) in the Chinese University of Hong Kong where she successfully developed the mechanism of drug resistance H. pylori in relation to autophagy. In 2016, with the Fellowship of Hong Kong-Scotland Partners in Post Doctoral Research (Prof. J. Ross Fitzgerald), she continues her emerging interest in bacterial pathogen host tropism and antimicrobial peptides resistance in University of Edinburgh. Dr Zhang is eager to learn and dedicates to the pursuit of research excellence. Her research capability can be verified by her publication track record (28 peer-reviewed articles in international journals including 4 of them as first author, including Journal of Pathology, Journal of Immunology, Gene Therapy, Current Medicinal Chemistry). She also obtained funding from National Natural Sciences Foundation of China in 2014 and from University Grants Committee of Hong Kong in 2016 as Principle Investigator. She is a member of American Association of Immunologist (2016-present) and Hong Kong Pharmacology Society (2010-2013).
