On November 5th 2019, Emily Parr successfully passed her viva and defended her work on the role of staphylococcal prophage Avβ in her PhD thesis: "Phage-mediated adaptation of Staphylococcus aureus to the avian innate immune response". Her internal examiner was Dr Thamarai Dorai-Schneiders (R(D)SVS) and her external examiner was Professor Paul Wigley (The University of Liverpool).
