By the end of this module you will be able to:

  • Understand the nutrients needed to support life and health
  • Explore the principles of human nutrition
  • Describe the importance of food groups for meal planning
  • Explain why there are no “good foods” or “bad foods”

What does “nutrition” mean? How can meals be planned easily and with less pressure? Each person needs the same essential nutrients, but the amount needed varies depending on many factors. Learn about the nutrients that people need, the food sources of nutrients from all different food groups, the non-nutrient content of foods, and the social challenges of how we eat and talk about eating.
