Important message

The Covid-19 pandemic is creating uncertainty for everyone, but we are committed to offering a high-quality experience to all our students.

We have tried to minimise the impact of Covid-19 on the experience we offer all of our students, but we have reluctantly decided to close this degree for 2020 entry.

We are offering a similar programme of study in Global Agriculture and Food Security.

A core part of our BSc programmes is the 3-week work placement during year three.  Your brief time in industry will give you an insight into the sector and enable you to put theory into practice.

Through our national and international industry links students have the world to choose from in terms of gaining valuable experience.

You will be supported by our advisory services and a dedicated member of staff who will assist with finding and supporting your placement.

Some students may wish to participate in a 3-month summer placement linked to research or industry however, this is not compulsory.

As well as offering various placement and internship opportunities, our network of industry partners offer a much wider range of support to our students. These opportunities change and develop frequently but generally include:

  • Industry guest lectures delivered across a wide variety of modules
  • Student visits to industry premises
  • Tailored workshops run by industry - including Graduate careers, Diversity, Leadership, Networking
  • Industry specific case studies for student discussion and projects
