Dr Taddese Zerfu joins the Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Security

The Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Security is delighted to welcome Dr Taddese Zerfu as a Train@Ed Research Fellow. Tadesse is a public health and nutrition specialist.

Taddese trained in medicine and holds a Ph.D. in Food Science and Nutrition from Addis Ababa University. He has completed two post-doctoral fellowships: an IMMANA post-doctoral fellowship with Tufts University and a post-doctoral research scientist position with the African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) in Nairobi, Kenya. He has also served as a senior research advisor at the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) and Assistant Professor of Public Health-Nutrition at Dilla University, in Ethiopia. He is a member of the Ethiopian Young Academy of Sciences (EtYAS). He won the "Tore Godal" research award and an ADDRF Fellowship. His present and future research interests include maternal and child health; maternal and child nutrition; agriculture, health - nutrition nexus; and planetary health.
