Who's who

Our outreach service for homeless animal owners is organised by supervised students of the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies. Please note we are not a veterinary clinic.

Aoibheann

Hiya I’m Aoibheann and I am one of the junior media coordinators this year!

I’m from Ireland and I am very lucky to have a super cute cocker spaniel waiting for me every time I visit home! In my free time I love reading, going to the gym and watching a good movie.

I’ve always wanted to join All4Paws since hearing about the clinic in first year. I think it is an amazing charity that touches so many lives, from our adorable patients to their owners who care so much about them.

My top tip: Take time to relax outside of vet school, there’s so many fun activities to do around the city!

Airthery

Hey guys I’m Airthrey (air-three) and part of the junior media team! I’m from sunny Singapore & love hanging out in the sun with my friends, cycling, or just having a good read at home. Fun fact: I really hate feet!

I am so excited to be part of an amazing team who continues to spread kindness beyond our lovely furry friends but to the wider community as well & can’t wait to start embarking on this journey!

My top tip is to have the courage to try out new thing, start slow & make mistakes because that’s how you learn & don’t be too hard on yourself

Airthery

Shermaine

Hi guys! I’m Shermaine and I’m one of the senior media coordinators for this year! I come from the sunny island of Singapore and I’m extremely excited to be able to be a part of this amazing team for yet another year! I love being part of such a great cause and am so excited to be able to continue being involved in the community and to help the homeless and vulnerably housed in Edinburgh. In my free time, I love dancing and spending time with my friends, family and my lovely dogs, Shiver and Tobi. I can’t wait to see what this year will bring! My top tip: always have the courage to ask questions, because every unasked question is a missed opportunity to learn and grow! <3

Sophie

Hey! My name is Sophie, I am from Dunblane, Scotland and I am an aspiring marine vet! I am one of the Senior media coordinators for this upcoming year and I am really excited to get to work with everyone for another year at All4paws. I really enjoy contributing to the community and helping improve the livelihood and welfare of the animals in the clinic’s care. In my spare time, I enjoy playing frisbee as well as being creative through art or baking. My top tip is to join a non-vet society! You will make friends with people doing other degrees and as well trying a new interest!

Clinic Coordinators

Laura

Hi there my name is Laura!

I’m a fourth year who is interested in doing mixed practice, charity work, maybe emergency?

Why All4Paws? Because All4Paws is fab! This is my second year on committee and my whole consultation has come on leaps and bounds with All4Paws. I’ve been fortunate to see sore animals heal and owners relieved.

My top tip for veterinary students is to listen to your brain & body. If you feel tired sleep, if you feel stressed about a task get it done, if you feel lonely find someone to hang with (pet or human!). Your brain is not being naughty when it drifts off to think about food – it's just trying to tell you what you need! So be easy on it

Laura

Mehran

Hiya! My name is Mehran and I’m a fourth-year student. I’m from Falls Church, Virginia, and I did my undergraduate degree in Aquatic Biology. I am interested in emergency, exotics, and wildlife medicine. I love All4Paws because we get to give back to the community! I love learning how a clinic operates, and I get to practice my clinical skills outside of class. The people I’ve met through All4Paws are so wonderful, and I’m so grateful I get to be a part of it 😊 My top tip for veterinary students is to get enough sleep! You can’t remember what you’ve studied if you can’t keep your eyes open.

Mehran

Hayoung

I am Hayoung and I have interests in small animal medicine, nutrition, and exotics. I live with an Eclectus parrot and a Pomeranian; Cotton and I love spending my free time visiting cafés around Edinburgh with Cotton or relaxing with a good game. I joined All4Paws because I believe in the beautiful ways animals can transform our lives. My top tip for vet students is to stay kind to yourself—ask questions, learn from mistakes, and celebrate small progress along the way!

Aleks

Hello! I’m Aleks and I have the pleasure of being one of the junior clinic coordinators this year!

I have Polish roots, but I’ve grown up in Edinburgh ever since I can remember. My favourite things to do are painting and art gallery hopping, but I also love to cosy up in bed and watch a movie (especially in the company of my cat Bear <3)

I’m really excited to help run our clinics and be able to give back to the wider community. I’ve always been touched by the bond we share for our animal companions, so I can’t wait to meet our lovely clients and their pets!

Consistency is key! Doing a little bit each day goes a long way making the workload much more manageable, but also leaving you with more time to spend with your family and friends and do the things you love!

Aleks

Olivia

Hello! I’m Olivia, one of the junior clinical coordinators. I’m from the small yet busy Hong Kong. In my free time, you’ll find me daydreaming and letting my mind wander, sitting next to a piano, in a climbing gym, or on top of a mountain (when the weather is nice). I love being part of the All4Paws team, supporting the people and animals in the community and helping them through life’s ups and downs. I am very excited to meet our clients and their furry little friends! Top tip: Studying is important, but living is even more important. Life isn’t only about vet school - go explore and enjoy!

Olivia

Tara

I’m Tara and I’m so excited to be one of the junior clinic coordinators this year. I’m from a little village in Buckinghamshire. When I’m not at vet school I love to read and play sport. I am also part of the Edinburgh UOTC and hope to join the army when I graduate. I have wanted to join All4Paws since I started at Edinburgh because I really want to be able to use my veterinary knowledge to help people and this is such an amazing way to do it. I am so excited to learn more about the work that goes into running and organising the clinic this year.

Top tip: Trust yourself, you’ve made it this far it will all work out in the end you don’t always have to be first in the class.

Outreach

Landry

Hello! I'm Landry, one of the senior outreach coordinators. I'm from Louisiana, USA where I studied animal science at LSU before coming to Edinburgh in 2022. In my free time, you can often find me walking my dog, crafting, or hanging around with friends. I'm so excited to continue to be a part of All4Paws. My past year with All4Paws has taught me so much and really helped me grow as a person. I am incredibly passionate about what we do, and I love being able to help the community in such a meaningful way.

Tip for vet students: Get out there and get experience however you can. There is no better way to grow your skills than to practice them.

Landry

Izzy

Hello everyone! My name is Izzy, and this year I’m one of the senior Outreach Coordinators for All4Paws. I grew up in the Highlands of Scotland but have lived in Edinburgh since 2017, starting at the R(D)SVS in 2022. In my free time, I love going for walks in nature and spending time with friends. I really enjoyed being part of All4Paws last year as it taught me so much and gave me the opportunity to meet and work closely with the local community, and I am excited for the year ahead. My top tip for vet students is to make sure you take time to do the things you love outside of vet school!

Izzy

Jakob

Hello! I'm Jakob and I am one of your Senior Outreach coordinators. I am from North Carolina, USA. When I am not studying, I'll be reading a book, cooking, watching an ice hockey game, or spending time with my friends. This is my second year with All4paws, and I am thrilled to continue to give back to the community that welcomed me here in 2023. My top tip for vet students is to get involved with your community on campus. The connections you make here can expand your skill set and help you find the kind of vet you want to be.

Jakob

Alisa

Hey guys! I'm Alisa and I'm one of the junior outreachers for this year! I come from the lovely south of Ukraine, where my rescue spaniel is patiently waiting for his favourite ear scratches and cucumber treats<3 In my free time, you would often find me at the Portobello beach reading a novel or behind a kitchen counter baking some poppyseed-filled pastries.

The idea of providing free veterinary care to vulnerably housed people and their pets sits very close to my heart. I have volunteered a lot over the last few years and I am really excited to help our clients and patients feel welcome with our team!

My top tip – never be afraid to start a conversation with someone new, you never know how many interesting things you can hear and learn from them<3

Alisa

Steph

Hey everyone! I’m Steph and I’m so excited to be one of the Junior Outreach officers this year! I come from the west coast here in sunny Scotland. When I'm not studying, I'm usually found with my dog, Bear, or at the yard with the horses and Herefords. I’ve done a lot of volunteering throughout the years, making me very passionate about the work we do here. I have wanted to get involved with All4Paws since I started vet school, so I feel incredibly lucky to be here, and help this community so close to home.

My top tip for vet students is just to make the most out of any EMS you do, whether it be AHEMS or clinical, there’s something to learn from everyone you meet, and you may find a love for something you never thought you would before!

Steph

Ian

Hi everyone! My name is Ian and I’m one of the senior fundraising coordinators. I’m originally from Singapore. If I’m not busy studying, you can catch me fencing, cooking or exploring the highlands!

I’m so excited to contribute to All4paws this year and it has been a blessing to be part of the wonderful team while giving back to the community.

My top tip for surviving vet school is to be stay curious and stay kind - both to your patients and to yourself. remembering why you started and finding small ways to keep learning enjoyable makes all the difference!

Ian

Cerys

Hello! My name is Cerys, and this year I will be one of the senior fundraising coordinators!

I live on the west coast of Scotland, where I love to go walking and cycling in the woods or (if it’s not too freezing!) swimming in the sea with my dog Olive.

I have very much enjoyed this last year working with everyone involved with All4paws  it's such a unique opportunity to develop your own skills and grow confidence, whilst at the same time feeling a part of an incredible community in Edinburgh.

My top tip for getting through vet school is to not compare yourself to other people - it's so easy to feel like you're falling behind at times, but it helps to remember that everyone learns at a different pace. Never feel afraid to do things your own way :)

Cerys

Elsa

Helloooooo! My name is Elsa, and I am so excited to be one of the Junior Fundraising coordinators for All4Paws this year! I am from London and have the cutest cocker spaniel called Dixie. In my free time I love to go for runs, play hockey and bake banana bread.

All4Paws is such an amazing initiative giving care and support to our furry friends that need it the most. I feel very fortunate to be able to be a part of such a meaningful cause and can’t wait to do my part for the community.

My top tip for vet students is: don’t be afraid to ask questions—whether it’s in class, on placement, or with peers. Everyone is still learning, and curiosity is one of your greatest tools.

Elsa

Lauren

Hi! I’m Lauren, one of the junior fundraising coordinators for this year.

I’m currently in 3rd year after intercalating in zoology last year. In my free time, I like reading, figure skating and going on hikes with my dog.

I joined All4Paws because I’m passionate about making veterinary care more accessible for pets and owners who need it most. It’s such a meaningful way to support our local community and make a real difference.

My top tip: Try to get involved whenever you can on placement as even small tasks teach you a lot. Also, the more you help out and show enthusiasm, the more likely people are to trust you with more hands-on work later.

Lauren
