A list of possible funding opportunities for public engagement.

There are many public engagement and outreach grants available for your use if you wish to develop and conduct an activity of your own. These grants fund a variety of projects in different fields at varying scales so you can choose the right one for you!

 

1. Outreach and Engagement Grants

The grant is offered to RSB members around the world and is open to people of all experience levels in public engagement and outreach activities. Small grants offer a maximum of £200 and full grants up to £1000. The most recent round of grants closed 1st July 2024. Look out for 2025 grant opening updates.  

Grant amount: up to £1000

Membership: RSB membership required

 

2. Biochemical Society- Science Outreach Grants

The Biochemical Society supports public engagement and outreach activities that communicate the excitement of molecular bioscience to young people and the community. Additionally, information from previous grant holders is provided to give on overview of the type of events the grant is looking to fund.

Grant amount: up to £1000 and up to £5000

Application start date: open Autumn 2024

Membership: Not required

 

3. Society for Endocrinology – Outreach Grant

Funding is available for Society members and Society affiliated patient support groups for outreach activities aimed at the public or patients to help to engage more people with endocrinology and its impact. The scope for this grant is wide. For example, applications could be for funding to support public engagement activities and resource development; patient engagement and support activities; scoping Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) before a research study; for Endocrine Ambassadors to pay for speaker travel expenses for a member recruitment event. Society members and Society affiliated patient support groups may submit joint applications, if desired.

Grant amount: up to £1000

Application start date: Open now

Deadline: Wednesday 2 October 2024

Membership: Not required

Conditions: non- members will be partnered with a society member and must contact the Society before applying.
