Genes in a Bottle

Do you like doing experiments? Do you wonder what makes you unique? Want to meet some scientists? If so, then come and get hands-on in EBSOC lab!

During this workshop you will extract your own DNA from your cheek cells, bottle it and take it home in a glass pendant. The workshop is a great introduction to DNA and hands-on science and will be supported by scientists from The Roslin Institute.

Workshop activities

  • Using micropipettes (>14 year old participants only)
  • Isolating your own DNA from your cheek cells
  • Discussion with scientists from The Roslin Institute

Free parking is available at Easter Bush Campus in The Roslin Institute and Veterinary Teaching Building car parks. Please provide your car registration at Charnock Bradley Building reception when you check in for the event.
